paying tribute to an iconic french house movement isn’t easy, no matter how late this post may come. an all glittery review was written out and ready to post months ago but unfortunately lost in a browser crash. lesson learnt, going to keep the posts shorter from here on in to put out more jammies. now allow me to share with you two tunes that got me into modern french house around ’05 (yes, even if there is no disco loop present, these two are still considered french house).

one of the more deserving under-hyped acts, definitely. let’s change that– tweet twat with the duo, touch base on the myspace, and cop a single or two.

a true van she fanboy myself, i’m delighted to spread the know of michael di francesco’s solo alias arithmatix – unknown to many feel good connoisseurs, and not broken-in just yet. michael, an anolog junkie at heart, seems to have proven himself as a just remixer so far.

legend has it that michael’s true talent is derived from the power of a peculiar leather jacket which he dons every morning, after the early rays of sunlight gently kiss his eyelids, causing them to crack open in a mighty stare. he is also said to possess the awesome mastery of remixing. all of that to be debated later, check the tracks first.

word on the street is that michael has got his fingers glued to knobs and wires alongside fellow she-man matt van schie and the rest of the motley crew, producing van she‘s newest ep, due sometime within the next few months.

still playing catch up, this is a necessary-must-super-gotta-post-it, even if i am the last guy in the blogosphere to write up about flight facilities, just in case any of you missed the flight (hurr!) on this deep, rockin, smooth sailin, badass, all aussie yacht groove outfit.

smooth doesn’t cut it. suave can only compliment it. flight facilities sport the sound of the easy life and a loosened collar without sweat. rhodes. bass. slick vocals, and lyrics. true yacht virtuosity. have i lost it if i want to buy one of these and look like this?

yet again france has to go ahead and re-establish its grip on the indie dance scene. greedy, i say… almost not fair. nor is it fair to be completely crushed over a tune and find yourself easily falling to the merciless temptation of playing out a track until you’re totally sick of it… so far i’m on day 3

on the quest for musical conquest comes the french power pop/indie outfit pony pony run run as they push their latest single ‘walking on a line’ off of the label 3ème bureau. along with ‘walking on a line’ is a remix of legendary status by none other than the french house champion lifelike himself. this has got to be my favorite of 2010 as of yet

now this isn’t the usual lifelike makeover we have here… this is more like the perfect gateway tune for those appreciative of the indie pop rock sound but unable to handle it raw. what we have here is a high-octane cocktail of energetically charged, dreamlike melodies dancing to a fit beat and whispy, angelic vocals. that kind of gig… a real trip, the real deal. atmospheric. airy. ultimate indie dance interpretation. EPIC. only so many tunes sport such a surrealistic nature to them — this is one of ‘em

hot on the heels of new music, we’re in close pursuit of fresh stuff. fresh like all the fresh foods diving down the esophaguses of the poor young ladies in grum‘s new music video. after watching the flick (certain things need not be shared) let’s just say i dont think i’ll look be looking at girls and spaghetti+meatballs the same way for a little while

unfortunately i can’t share anything off of grum‘s new single, but can provide my favorite remix off the package in the streaming audio playa above. out of all the remixes, australia’s beaumont hit me best. something about the pads that play over the chorus is terribly addicting. i bet i’ll find at least a few of you hangin around here listening to this on repeat. no need to worry, the single+remixes release in just a month off of heartbeats. check the beatport for more
