chris tends to stay out of the limelight, away from the scenes, niches, and cliques. this is no guile or gimmick, just complete, unadulterated style & sincerity. we reeled him in out from the abyss like the lochness, as he made his debut release with us back in feb 2011 (renaissance EP). if you can’t tell by now, chris is a musical witch doctor, able to concoct melodic potions on a whim.

here’s to an unprecedentedly polished tune manufactured by oliver (vaughn and oligee’s shared namesake). so well produced it was, it kicked my lazy a$s into gear to share it with you all.

their remix of housse de racket‘s ‘roman’ is a full culmination of all the bits they’ve been experimenting with over the past year. the remix attracts to itself adjectives like elemental, ornamental, yacht rental, and plain old mental. the perfect pop + club blend can only be topped by its even cleaner production… one which abides by the dress code while still maintaining its bad. bad (the good kind) with its shirt tucked in. many a producer fails to fully walk that tight rope. but this tune awfully stomps across that tight rope in decoration. nothing like hearing a proper moog roar (the kind arturia wishes they could emulate), complimented by a vocal hook which keeps even peter pan up late at night, all dressed to the nines in nostalgic, melodic stabs. stabs sharper than blade 1 2 and 3 combined (you know, the box set).

it’s rare to catch a tune which gains such accolade from hard-to-pleasers like us. but this is one of those tunes… paris got nothing on los angeles now. oliver boys are slaying it

first bunny out of the hat in the magician’s magic tape 13 is our very own moon boots. not very much about the pair of boots is public knowledge, but rumor has it that with the disbanding of the shuttle program, we can expect to learn more and more about him, as declassified information & data will be released within the impending months.
