Tarmo Vannas – Topaz (Tarmo Vannas Techtribe Remix)

So there’s this guy from Estonia named Tarmo Vannas and he has this tune out on Proton called “Topaz”.

I’ll be reviewing my favorite remix of the whole package, Tarmo Vannas’ own “Techtribe Remix.”

An unassuming track at first, it comes in with some light percussion before introducing a really deep chugging bassline that rides along for quite a while. The real beauty is in the great spacey melodies that really remind me of the stuff Markus Schulz was playing in late 2004.

Throughout the tune, there are parts where the melodies are stripped away and it drops directly into just the bass with small amounts of percussion. A real journey! Clocking it at around 11 minutes, this sucka is hefty, which should come as no surprise seeing that it’s a very deep and atmospheric track.

The Techtribe Remix appears on Part 2 of the Topaz release along with mixes from Spin Science, Satoshi Fumi, and Electricano.
